This year\, due to the recent amendments to the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act that went into effect on January 1\, 2022\, individuals required to file a Statement of Economic Interests must now disclose significantly more information\, including assets with a value exceeding $10\,000\, sources of income in excess of $7\,500\, creditors of debt in excess of $10\,000\, and more. Individuals required to file must also list the economic interests of their spouse and children. \n\n\n\nThe Secretary of State recently issued guidance relating to the completion and filing of the Statement of Economic Interests\, but many questions remain unanswered.
